DOCTOR
BIRD Written

by Ashley Wolff zzz Dr. Bird is one clever fellow! Here are three lookin' up tales presented in the rich story telling style and colors of the West Indies, featuring Dr. Bird- Jamaica's national bird. I also worked with Gerry Hausman on How Chipmunk Got Tiny Feet . 1998

I have gone on to do four more books
about Miss Bindergarten with Joe Slate since this was published. This
book is illustrated with my hand-tinted linoleum block prints. It is
a Christmas tale of animals rushing to prepare the stable for the arrival
of Mary and Joseph. In a starred review, Kirkus said it was "a lovely
addition to the Christmas canon". 1988 |

Written
and Illustrated by Ashley Wolff zzz
A
perennial favorite, this story is illustrated in full-color acrylic
paintings and tells of the things only a cat sees when a little girl
and her family pass the night in their New England farmhouse. It was
chosen for revival by Chinaberry Books and is one of their Chinaberry
classics. 1985 |

HOME
SWEET HOME
zzz
From
the tiniest worker ant to the whales deep in the ocean, everything on
earth has a place to call home. This gentle, beautiful poem, from the
author of the I Spy series, celebrates the universal love of
family and belonging. I illustrated this with a new style of painting
that resembles a lino-cut but allows a more versatile approach. 1997

GOODY
O'GRUMPITY zzz
Again
using my signature hand-tinted linoleum block prints, I set Brink's
classic poem in colonial Plymouth Plantation, where Goody O'Grumpity
bakes a spice cake full of the most flavorful ingredients.
